Mardi Gras Wine Pairings

Mardi Gras is a good time to showcase Cajun Cuisine!  What wines could you pair with these wonderful hot and spicy flavors?  Those of us who enjoy big and bold reds might want to pass while eating these rich and buttery foods.

Some ideas:

Gumbo - Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, or Shiraz

Catfish, Creole or Etouffee - White Wine (Riesling, Gewurtztraminer or Sauvignon Blanc)

King Cake - Sparkling wine!

These are just a few suggestions on pairings for Mardi Gras!
